Okay, I just hopped in-game and Campbell was talking about the base starter block DRALZEN placed.  No other factions or players have placed a base near us on Omicron.

So Campbell made a super deep shaft and relocated the active core there and removed the temporary one that Dralzen had placed near the mouth of the hangar entrance.

The new HQ is almost 100% operational. Most of the hangar is built and nearly all of the machinery is up and running. Huge kudos to Dralzen, Payton, and Campbell for their excellent work.

 

Dralzen and I got the central AA battery base up. It is completely independent of the current base. We also went up to Omicron's moon and mined thousands of neodymium and hundreds of warp crystals.

 

We also crafted two more Kodiaks. I even went so far as to create a blueprint for custom Legion Kodiaks. They sport our unit colors, serial designations which require the last letter (currently we have Kodiak A, Kodiak B, and Kodiak C; the markings on the side indicate this by being denoted as 47K/A, 47K/B, and 47K/C, so the blueprint comes with 47K/? on the side), and the smoke stack has been deleted. So if you search my name in Empyrion's community workshop this blueprint should pop up. At some point we'll get a blueprint collection going.

 

I also currently have the StarCraft Terran Medevac vessel under construction and Dralzen is fabricating a troop transport.

 

Looks like we might actually need some promethium though.

Was doing a little poking around in the forums and saw some of the stuff the devs were working on.  Looks like volumetric atmospheres for ships and structures will be a thing soon.  They're also doing some big AI work for better PvE.  Which reminds me, we still haven't checked out any of the boss battles!

 

Last thing I saw was that they're currently working towards setting up an entire galaxy rather than a single solar system and with that they think they can setup an official MMO space with each solar system on it's own server.  

Oh, and don't know if anyone saw it but I gave a friend a brief game tour last night and popped the StarCraft Terran Medevac ship in the hangar.

We took out a couple of drone bases on the Omicronian moon last night.  We also learned why you don't shoot power generators.

Ha, yeah. Dralzen told me about that. He and I took out the spaceport near our base.

Our server still hasn't updated.  I tried out the server that AV's faction is playing on in the mean time, and it is like ours but with most of the 50+ player base farming new players for resources.  Didn't seem to appealing, few people make bases on planets apparently because they just get destroyed within a day or so.

Ouch, just lost the Spectre and died in orbit of Omicron.  Went to check out the asteroid field and came across a lone plasma drone.  Took that out but in the dogfight I saw a shipyard pop on my HUD out in the middle of the field.  Flew in for a closer look but I did not fly out.  Definitely going to need some bigger guns to tackle that thing.

Alexander_8373 and Itswallis were able to get into our base while we were offline and they took everything, wrecked everything else.  Alexander put up a scathing defense of his actions, wallis logged off as soon as we logged in.  Dralzen and I tried to contact the server admin but they don't seem to have put that sort of capability into their website.  They found the core, (dunno how), replaced it with their own and kept it public, then destroyed most of the vehicles and looted everything from below.  

 

Edit: They dug a straight line to the core.  Like they knew exactly where it was somehow.  They didn't have to damage extra blocks to get to it even, they dug through the ground.

What kind of defense can he use?  We were offline, with offline protection up.  Seems pretty cut and dry.

Oh, and they probably used a wall hack to find the core.  It appears that the EAC anti cheat is a pretty crappy one.

He was feigning ignorance of the "respect offline protection" rule that pops up every 5 minutes in red.  I won't get into the gist of it but he was clearly not very mature.  Also he was either genuinely fearful of being kicked from the server for violating its rules, or he was trolling me, I couldn't tell.  He used just about every argument possible to support his claim of not knowing he was violating server rules and thus did nothing wrong.

Geez, glad we got the Normandy still. Well, this might be a good opportunity to switch servers.

Can we use the Normandy to transfer into the new server?

 

I thought at some point someone mentioned that accessing other servers is possible.  If so, we could scrap that beast for materials.

So I just learned that if you have a block currently selected and hold down N you can select one plane of symmetry for building. Had no flippin' clue.
