It is phenomenal. The best racing game I have ever played. It was so good it has only been out for a day and I have maxed my level and finished the campaign. It had a great story (better than you would expect from a racing game), amazing driving physics, each car feels different, good car classes, fun driving and going from place to place, and the re-playability is great. The lead dev said a while ago that he wanted it to be the racing WoW, and he wanted people to play it for years. He did great in that there are many cars to get in the future and each one can be leveled to your hearts desire. You level by earning parts from these minigames you drive through on the road and they are fun as well. There are also special collectible cars that you have to find parts for. And all that isn't even mentioning the multiplayer aspects of your crew and faction wars.

im also stuck on the first race the one with the red truck any ideas i get to like 400 meters then run out of time

You need to get to the checkpoints, look for high white beams and go towards them

Try turning down the driving difficulty under controls in the options. It will help drastically on those off-road missions.

What are you using to drive? The default keyboard keys are the arrow keys, I originally was trying to use WSAD and the truck was just cruising on momentum then ran out of speed and got surrounded by cops haha.

I highly recommend the bears. They are clearly dominate faction with at least 30% dominance in each region.

 

I do recommend us all picking the same one as it will benefit us all.

Ok, installed a gamepad and my fingers are really appreciating it. I also ran some pvp races and was about to call BS until someone turned collision off. I cannot state how great it is to not have stupid pugers always trying to run you out of the course simply because there is no real damage to the cars. The collision option turned to off really helped improve things for me in pvp.

Ya, Their website is very lacking because they have not updated it yet from release. I have been waiting for a while for them to update the cars page, lot's of things missing.

Figured I woudl bump this thread since the expansion Wild Run just came out.

 

It costs about $29.99 depending on where you get it. I think Steam is 5 bucks cheaper.

 

Anyways it adds a ton of content and reworks some game mechanics. Some of the changes can be seen without the expansion.

 

Enhanced Graphics (Looks SICK now)

Quite a few new vehicles (Including MOTORCYCLES)

Three new specs besides Bikes: Dragsters (awesome accelerating beasts that can even pop wheelies on launch), Monster Trucks (Pretty self-explanatory awesomeness), and my personal favorite, Drift Spec!

 

They also reworked how platinum parts work. When you qualify on the side skill missions well enough, you would normally get a platinum part, but now you get something from Smart Loot, or a system that grants something beneficial that you don't have. This could be a paint job, body part, platinum performance part, etc.

 

This new system drastically slows down how quickly you can get all platinum parts on your cars, instead of the quick 15 minute repetition to get the parts now you will have to actually hunt down and earn them. Although it kinda frustrated me, this is the way it should have been from the beginning, making platinums like orange equivalents in most games.

 

Also there are large competitive events with cool rewards now, called summits. There are about 12 missions/skills for each summit and your performance in each one determines your overall rank in the summit. The higher your rank, the better possible rewards at the end. These rewards can vary. For qualifying summits it can be an extreme spec token, performance part pack, crew credits, and for the full on monthly summits you can even get cool cars.

 

Let me know if any of you pick up the expansion, cause I need some stunt buddies to boost my summit rank and cash lol
