My biggest issue is the way the classes are setup. I know there's weapon skills and armor skills so the classes don't matter much. But I can't seem to find any of the 4 desirable to play.

Well each class has 3 class based skill tree's, you can decide to use any weapons or armor you wish just by wearing or using it and leveling that skill and putting points into the tree. It just depends what you want to do and which skill bonuses work best for your play style. It can be very diverse, which isn't really a bad thing, its just different from any other game out there so far.

Yea I know I have played pretty much every MMO on the market for the last 10 years. It's the main genre of game I like to play. I just wasn't fond of ESO's way of doing it. Even though I've played several games that had a similar class setup.

Here is a skill calculator you can play around with, you can pick class and race, it will show every skill available and what they upgrade to and at which level they unlock.

What specifically bothers you about it? I think its a nice system, although I am quite used to it now.....

I think I mostly play MMOs with more choice. Like 8+ classes with 3 skill trees each. So the fact that it is so basic is probably what bothers me. But I have to look at the calculator or get in game and look at the combinations again to see what I can make. Because I usually play hybrid style classes.

Well this game has many many options for hybrid specs, if you want to make a Sorcerer who wears heavy armor and wields a 2h weapon, you can do that.

 

On top of the class skill trees, there are all the weapon skill trees, the 3 armor skill trees, a world skill tree for soul shard related things, 3 guild skill trees (mage guild, fighter guild, undaunted), then there is the racial skill tree, and crafting skill trees. 

 

And I will tell you, my veteran rank 11 Night Blade has all 5 crafting skill tree's maxed out, racial tree is maxed, fighters guild is maxed, world skill tree is maxed, medium armor is maxed, dual wield and bow trees are maxed, and 2 of my 3 class skill tree's are maxed. So there are plenty of points to go around and play with all sorts of different specs.

 

My Sorc I am working on is not going to do any crafting, so I am going to have a tonne of points to play with on that one, will probably max out all 3 armor's and lots of extra weapons haha

I am most likely going to run Templar and build as a support. I mostly PVP in MMOs so I will build toward that.

Honestly Destroy, play what you enjoy most, every class can do almost anything in this game, and there are plenty of skill points to play with.

So I am trying out a hybrid build on my sorc and so far it is quite fun and awesome!

 

I am wearing 3 heavy armor pieces and 4 cloth pieces, weilding a 2h sword as main spec and resto staff in off spec.

 

Its my version of a Battle Mage and I must say, it gets the job done nicely haha.

 

I am level 32 and counting!

 

On a side note, I have joined a guild called Ebonhearts Elite, there are always people online to chat with and do group things with, some good people there, so if you still need a 5th guild I can get you in this one, I feel it will be helpful when wanting to do dungeons and trials later on.

Well today is the big day, patch 1.6 is going live, new Champion System and Justice System's being put into place, everyone is getting a re-spec for free, lots of gear changes, lots of skill changes, its going to be quite the improvement, at least I hope it is. Got mine updating now, hopefully it will be done by the time I get home from work.

This new 1.6 patch has turned all the old builds on their heads. Not much works like it used to.  Here's a link to the skill sets post 1.6.  It was going badly for me in pvp until I made some serious changes.  Still haven't gotten a gear set down to what would help me better, but that'll take time and theorycraft to decide upon.  There are some bugs for now, and of course a few exploits have been found in certain classes.  I was getting pwned badly with my old build, so I did a rebuild basing off my racial stat boosts.  I went 2h sword and bow as my other weapon, as I'm stamina based and have turned the table on some of those nightblade gankers.  I'm going to change that today to go 2h sword and destruction staff, so I can make more use of my magicka for situations.  Plus I was given a badass destro staff as a pvp campaign reward a few weeks ago.  Going to give that a chance and see what it feels like.

 

When I'm online, I'm usually pvp'ing against a zerg, but I'll try to help you out if I can.

Ya I need to change a few things around myself, a lot of my abilities that used to use magicka are now using stamina and I am running out of stam a LOT faster than before. So I need to respec my attribute points and get a lot more stamina going. I am still trying to figure out a good combination of skills to max my dps potential, both for single target and aoe. So far its not going very well in the DPS department as I am still experimenting. I got a lot of work to do! Also I have only crafted a full set of Legendary gear for myself, all v14 legendary stuff, but the better set bonuses are found in Trials and what not, still need to find set jewelry, which is only in trials, but fortunately I am in a guild that runs trials every week, so its only a matter of time!

Well tomorrow is the big Buy once and play for free switch for ESO, anyone that already owns the game will be able to play it for free starting tomorrow. No more subscription required, but you can still pay one for extra goodies, like with any free to play MMO. Should be interesting to see what is on the crown store.

Was reading about the changes today and about ESO plus ... wasn't very happy lol. Anyone that buys a copy of the game after tomorrow gets a one time bonus of 500 crowns to spend in the store. Anyone that had a subscription but cancelled it gets a one time bonus of 500 crowns plus 100 crowns for every month they had a sub. Anyone that still has a current subscription gets 1500 per month but nothing for all the previous months ... no fair lol ... wish I'd cancelled my sub now lol.

Well I was given 2000 crowns, I have only been sub'd for a month prior to this launch, you get a bonus if you have imperial edition I think also.....either way its free crowns, can't really complain, and there isn't that much to buy from the store yet either.

Well that's not too sad then, I have the imperial Edition and I have never cancelled my sub, even though we stopped playing months ago lol. Will have to patch the client and see what I get lol.

 

 

Checked the webpage, it shows how many crowns you have on your account page .... subbed since launch continuously gets you 3000 crowns, or at least that's what I got .. meh lol

You should also get the Mask of Cheerful Slaughter disguise, and the Sench Tiger mount for being subbed since launch, that tiger mount looks pretty sweet.
