Well folks, the 5 Day Early Access before launch starts on Monday of next week, and I have the week off, so hopefully ESO has everything in order so I can jump right in and get started. I will create the guild and get you all in it as soon as you can login. What do we want to call the guild by the way? I don't think we really settled on a name. I suppose we could stick with 47th Legion to keep up appearances, even though we won't officially support ESO. Let me know your thoughts.

Also we will be focusing on the Ebonheart faction for our mains, so everyone go with Ebonheart Pact for your main character.

As for guild unlocks, the guild bank is at 10 members, the guild store is at 50 members. Not that we really need a guild store as we will just be sharing everything to get our professions maxed out. According to the last beta they changed the guild bank from 1000 slots down to 500 slots, so it would be good to limit the use of that to crafting materials only, and yes that does include food ingrediants.

Also I highly recommend everyone loots everything you possibly can in the beginning, the wailing prison tutorial. You can get a tonne of food ingrediants and recipes out of it, and even some racial crafting style books.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all in game, any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Q: When I pick the North American and European megaserver, is that a permanent choice?

A: At launch, game accounts will have access to both the North American and the European megaservers, but individual characters will be bound to the server on which you create them. Accounts can maintain a total of 8 characters per server, so you could have a total of 16 characters if you play on both servers.

Looks like there will be individual servers and the character you create will be bound to that server.

I am guessing this thread means they call their servers "Campaigns"?   http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/03/27/cyrodiil-campaign-names

I nominate GOLDBRAND as our server unless anyone objects.

Here are the list of Campaigns:

  • Bloodthorn
  • Scourge
  • Chrysamere
  • Auriel's Bow
  • Wabbajack
  • Volendrung
  • Skull Crusher
  • Dawnbreaker
  • Goldbrand
  • Hopesfire

Those campaign's are for the PvP side of things, when you reach level 10, you can enter Cyrodill, but before you do you must first choose a campaign. Seems like there will only be 1 main server for NA and 1 for EU, and you can have 8 characters on each server. But once you choose a campaign for your PvP on that character, then that character is locked to that specific campaign. In the beta I joined the Auriel's Bow campaign for PvP, the reason they lock you into these is because guilds can control the keeps located throughout the PvP Zone, and I figure they don't want to limit the number of keeps that can be owned by a guild, so they make each campaign unique so that more guilds may lay claim to a keep.

So...

Can I get a no shit assessment of whether this is worth buying for me? Basically I have 30 minutes here and there to play, generally with a bit more time on the weekends, but for the most part I am only getting in about 2 hours of play on Saturday morning (possibly Sunday morning too) and the rest of my weekend goes to a personal project and/or 47th related tasks I am way behind on.

So I guess I need to know if the game is good, but also if you all think it would be good in 30 minute play sessions. If it takes me 20 minutes to get from point A to point B, and I can't safely park my character near my intended target for my next play session, that would be something that would make the game a non-play for me.

Thanks all!

I'm by no means an expert and have only read interviews and (just today) watched some gameplay videos but if you like EQ/WoW derivatives then it might be worth your money.  I'm just not into tab-to-target gameplay or linear directed questing.

Here's some gameplay:

Striker, it would be doable, but most of these games are designed to make a player stay connected as much as possible. I am sure you could find some things to do and have a little fun in that amount of time, but progression will likely be so slow that it may become frustrating over time. On the plus side, you won't likely burn through all of the content and get bored waiting for the first expansion.

To be honest if you don't have the time to invest in a game you have to pay a monthly fee, then my recommendation is not to buy it. I've been playing since last night and I haven't been as impressed with the final changes as i thought id be when i played the Beta. The gameplay mechanics are good enough like in skyrim, and the feeling i get is that the developers succeeded in creating a skyrim online for us to play n pay. Unless the gameplay changes dramatically at the higher levels, i don't see me paying for the second month of subscription.

I popped into 'Goldbrand' for a pvp campaign.  We get 1 free home campaign switch.  Very low population for now, but I did catch a single group of Altmeri dominion taking castles.  6 people with a ram, going slow.  Not bad if there's nobody on the other side.  By myself I managed to burn down their ram and get some points with my bow.  They'd already taken several castles though
