Here's the discussion thread for Tom Clancy's The Division.  For those unfamiliar, here's a basic rundown:

 

Tom Clancy's The Division is an upcoming online multiplayer third-person tactical shooter action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Massive and Ubisoft Reflections under the Tom Clancy brand for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It was announced during Ubisoft's E3 2013 press conference, together with a seven minute gameplay demo.

 

The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which "revealed how vulnerable we've become"; society has become "fragile" and "complex". In the game, a disease that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States to collapse in five days. The player is part of a group called "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)", called "The Division" for short. This group was established to combat the threat and do whatever it takes to "save what remains" in a massive multiplayer online situation, putting them against friends, AI, and other players.

Here's a cool video of the companion app (for phones and tablets) for the game.  It basically allows you to control drones and UAVs inside the game world to help out teammates in various ways by either providing intel or, if your drone is armed, engaging targets.

 

Very cool stuff.

I like the tablet or phone idea. Very cool option if you are away from home and your gaming rig.

IF I got a PS4, I could definetely advise this game for clan activity.  However, i'll probably be withdrawing anyways, but if we DO get into that game, be sure to hit me up.  I'd be more than willing to lend a hand.

This is where the 47th shines. We are not overtly aggressive to others as our default stance, but f#%k with even one of our people and the full might of the 47th will bear down on those responsible swiftly and decisively. We don't let up until the offending party, and everyone they know, learns that crossing the Legion can only end in one way; their utter destruction.

 

I believe it was in Earthrise, if I am recalling correctly, that an entire Clan shifted their faction to avoid being in opposition of the 47th. We can and will dominate our enemies, all while upholding our primary tenets; serve the 47th Legion and serve each other. I am certain this standard will serve us well in the future and will definitely serve us well in The Division.

The Division is a game i am REALLY looking forward to. The setting seems interesting enough to catch my attention and the gameplay doesn't seem to be the usual FPS run and gun em that we have gotten used to in the past. At least the way it looks like in the videos is its going to be a lot more tactical in that approach. Too bad and good they pushed it back. Hope they make the best game possible although Ubisoft and Tom Clancy have a tendency to create great games for us avid consumers.

 

Edited to add: After watching the video i must say there are two moments where i go F-Yeah!. The sneak kill near the 3 minute mark which looks awesome, and the mobile/mechanich/robot/thingy that appears in the vid. This game is looking better as time passes.

I really want to know how the multiplayer shakes out, how MMO it's going to be, et cetera.  I'm hoping for a lot more than just matches or Guild Wars style instancing.

If I ever get some time to play, I would love to join you for some BF4. As I have already mentioned in the DayZ thread, I am not a huge fan of the gameplay in ArmA games, but I own that as well and could get up to speed quickly on the controls. The only problem of course is I rarely have time to do much of anything other than 30 minutes here and there as a break from work.

 

Every time I think things are settling down at work they dump some new ridiculous crap on me...hehe

Just found an awesome video with a lot of knowledge updated about the game. At least i found out a couple things that i didnt know, and im sure people that have not been following this game will find this video a great source of information to understand what The Division is all about.

I'm bummed to learn that it's just four-man co-op.  I was expecting a little more MMO than that.

Should still be a great game, nonetheless.
