Here's the discussion thread for Tom Clancy's The Division. For those unfamiliar, here's a basic rundown: Tom Clancy's The Division is an upcoming online multiplayer third-person tactical shooter action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Massive and Ubisoft Reflections under the Tom Clancy brand for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It was announced during Ubisoft's E3 2013 press conference, together with a seven minute gameplay demo. The Division is inspired by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, real-world events which "revealed how vulnerable we've become"; society has become "fragile" and "complex". In the game, a disease that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States to collapse in five days. The player is part of a group called "Strategic Homeland Division (SHD)", called "The Division" for short. This group was established to combat the threat and do whatever it takes to "save what remains" in a massive multiplayer online situation, putting them against friends, AI, and other players. The Firefall thread! Link to official gamesite: http://www.firefallthegame.com/ Alright, so some basic info. Very much like Defiance except more content, more features, more everything. Gameplay itself is nearly identical. Some added stuff though like jump jets on all battleframes (your armored suit) and battlefield information networking which really helps with tracking targets. Can be played in first or third person view. Your character itself has no levels or abilities. You level up the battleframes and all of them level independently, levels 0 to 40 which is max. So you can level up one battleframe to 40 but switch to another that's at level 1, for instance. Battleframes come in five flavors: Assault - DPS, lots of AoE Dreadnaught - Tank Recon - Mobility, spy gadgets, assault and sniper rifles Biotech - Buffing, Debuffing, healing Engineer - Gadgets, turrets, pets, deployables, et cetera. Each class of battleframe comes with one standard battleframe (the Accord series) and two advanced battleframes. The advanced battleframes aren't better but just specialize in a niche. For instance, one of the biotech advanced battleframes trades most healing capability for toxic and poisonous debuffs and DoTs making it more offensive. Advanced battleframes also come with different primary weapons. Very interesting looking crafting so far. Like, deep and fun. It's not some shallow bullshit crafting system and there's a lot of experimentation involved for very unique weapons. Weapons can be modded. Item decay exists. Things can permanently break. Thought I'd share this: https://playminimum.com/ I got to play it for about ten minutes during a beta weekend two weekends ago and it was actually quite a bit of fun. I picked it up on Steam last night though I haven't had a chance to jump in at all since.
