Earthrise: Development Delay, Revised Release Date

April 15, 2010 – Earlier this week, in the form of a creative and elaborate stunt that claimed the Earthrise development team was viciously destroyed by a Jaberwokie, Masthead Studios announced that the release of their upcoming MMORPG Earthrise has been pushed back from their original projection of Q2 2010. In addition to this news, the new estimation date for game release is scheduled for the fall of 2010.

The Masthead development team has been working diligently to produce a unique and entertaining game for MMO players, and in an effort to reduce the amount of issues that typically plague a new game as soon as it hits the market, the team has decided to spend some extra time perfecting performance and weaving a tapestry of lore that is sure to enthrall and entrance even the most novice of MMO players.

Select beta applicants should keep an eye out for the release of beta keys in the near future, and everyone should look forward to the appearance of the delayed, yet highly anticipated combat video!

Yeah I’m starting to feel the same way Cav. I don't get much free time with the hours I work and FPS just don't hold my attention for that long and my RTS games have been played to death. I had hoped for an MMO to tie me over, but not much out their piquet my interest.
Don’t get me wrong though Its grate to know that MHS is working diligently to produce a game that will be as bug free as possible and for that I commend the team for their efforts. but now we have another 3 to 6 month delay for Earthrise, freaking brilliant. Time to go take up golf or something I think.

In a related step, the thread "Update on game video?" was closed, with the note to take it up in a thread in the main section. From past behavior I take it there is only so much information the devs are comfortable disclosing, so following up on their lack of info is not a good use of time :)

I think it's increasingly probable that the devs will not (ever) deliver something like the game discussed in their forum. I wonder what their 'plan B' is.
