1) Hi Moll, can you tell us about your previous experiences in the videogames field?
I have been involved in various game communities as both member and moderator for quite a number of years now, as well as having extensive workings with fan sites. My involvement with video games goes way back to my early years, so it was only a matter of time before I ended up in the industry working with them.

2) How's your typical working day?
My day usually starts pretty early to allow me the ability to take my time reading all the new posts that have come in. I check in with the forums frequently throughout the day and work closely with our public relations person to make sure announcements go out in a rapid fashion, as well as brainstorm new ways to keep conversations moving productively within the community.

3) ER Community counts 3000 users. Are you satisfied?
Forum registration numbers are only a limited indicator of how large current interest is in any online game, I’ve discovered. There are lots of lurking people who will join us when they are ready. So yes, I’m pretty satisfied– the numbers just keep going up in a consistent fashion, so clearly the community is active, healthy, and growing.

4) Do you have future plans about some changes or improvements in the forum?
Of course! Every forum tends to grow and change over time. This is part of the reason we have a Forum Support category on the forums – we welcome all suggestions our users may have to help improve their experience on the forums.

5) There are only two international forums in ER site. Will others be added in the near future?
We will be revisiting the structure of the forums closer to launch to accommodate the needs of the community combined with our official support efforts.

6) What's your primary target in this moment, regarding the community and the forums?
My primary target is making sure the community is kept as up to date as possible with news that may concern them, as well as communicating back to the developers any necessary things they should keep an eye on.

7) Many sci-fi MMORPGs will be out in 2009. Give us three reasons to play ER instead the other ones.
With so many games available nowadays, it’s safe to say that each one brings something unique to the table. I think that players will find that there are easily more than three reasons to play Earthrise. That being said, since the announcement of Earthrise, our community has grown into an exceptional group and a great place to hang out and bond. In my opinion, that alone is an important part of any game.

8) What's the state of the game right now? Are you in proximity of a closed beta phase?
Given the current development status, Earthrise should be ready for closed, limited beta testing by the end of this year. We will not be announcing a date until we are confident that the game is ready to be tested by people outside our team.

9) Will there be other contests after the Halloween Contest for the forum users?
Most likely not immediately after, but we’ve come up with a fair list of contest ideas that we’re willing to try out. We had a poll earlier in the summer that was rather illuminating and most of our current ideas are based on that. We invite the community to also send us ideas they have anytime – after all, this is your community, and want as many people as possible to participate. Who knows, you might win!

10) ER forum and site are very simple and essential. SCi-Fi MMORPGs often have very complex and FX addicted ones.

Was this a deliberate choice?
As I am not in charge of the website or the forum design, I’m probably not the best person to answer this question on the decision process behind the website’s overall look and feel. There is a fantastic appeal to the site, as it incorporates a “less is more” approach, which allows users to find what they need quickly without an excess of stuff to dig through. Like all MMOs, it is unlikely the site will always remain the same as the web team revisits it to add more information to the already abundant riches that can be found there.

Thx Moll!
