Happy Holidays everyone!
Here's this week's main question of the week, inspired by this post.
In a recent developer chat, we were informed that in order to gain access to the faction blueprints, you need to have high faction standing.
1) if you are a fighter and not a crafter (i.e you cannot "use" that blueprint) can you sell it to a non-factioned person for whatever the market will bear?
2) if you are a crafter and not a fighter, is there any way to gain sufficient standing with the faction to access the important blueprints? (i.e. maybe through crafting/recycling/courier quests).
Also, this week we have a special holiday bonus question: Can we craft items out of rats? (see: http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=2375.0)
Here's what our developers had to say:
Monopolized designs that only certain Organizations have access to and provide as blueprints to players as a reward for their numerous deeds towards that organization, will be physical objects that can be sold on the free market. This allows fighters who have easy access to rewards due to their combat-oriented training, giving them edge in completing combat-based Organization Tasks to provide crafters with the knowledge to modify existing technologies in new ways, and in return either pay handsomely for the blueprint or provide back the fighter with items utilizing the blueprint - a viable tactic when both are organized in a guild. Crafters will be able to complete crafter-oriented Organization Tasks that ask for certain item(s) to be crafted and provided to the organization. Some of those quests will require the crafter to hunt the parts and ingredients himself, making it a mixed quest involving both combat and crafting.
And that bonus question that has been nagging everyone's mind for the past months - yes, you can craft items out of rats. But don’t expect to find rifles and armor in their bodies. We really don't want to give out the variety of rat uses, because we're rat lovers and we don't want their furry little race hitting extinction in the hands of greedy crafters!
Additionally, we want to wish all our community a safe and joyous holiday this week (and next, if you will be away). We'll be back next Monday to unwrap another Holiday Time Question of the Week. Until then, feel free to discuss the above information right here.
