Masthead Studios is hard at work pioneering innovative technology to bring you Earthrise, complete with stunning graphics and unlimited freedom in gameplay.
You’ve seen the concept art, analyzed the early screenshots and begged for in-game video footage; now what’s missing? Fan Art! Masthead Studios is proud to announce the first Earthrise Fan Art Contest beginning July 10, 2008 and ending at noon (12 p.m.) EST August 31, 2008.
If you are beginning to doubt your artistic ability and chances in this competition, hold tight! Categories for this contest will include hand drawn art, computer generated art and screenshot manipulations (more details below). One individual from each category will be deemed the winner and will receive an exclusive print of original Earthrise concept art autographed by the developers themselves! Not to worry, all entries will be posted in the Fan Art section of the Earthrise Media page for all of your friends to see.
Beyond having an Earthrise theme, the subject of the art is completely up to you, so let your imagination run wild because we are accepting multiple entries in the same or different categories. We’ve been following your creative ideas and suggestions on the forums, now it’s time show us what you can do.

Contest Rules
Contest Period:
The contest will begin July 10, 2008 and will end at noon (12 p.m.) EST August 31, 2008. To be eligible for the contest, all entries must arrive through email or postal mail by contest deadline.
Winners will be announced in the September Issue of the Earthrise Newsletter, to be released in the first two weeks of September 2008.
Prizes:
Individual Category Winner – The individual chosen from each category will receive one (1) piece of original Earthrise concept art autographed by the developers of Masthead Studios. An image of the Winner’s winning entry will be posted in the Fan Art (http://www.play-earthrise.com/gallery.php?type=3) page of the Earthrise Media page with acknowledgment of their achievement.
All Participants – All entries, deemed appropriate by the judges, will be posted in the Fan Art page of the Earthrise Media page.

How to Enter:
• Create an original piece of artwork with an Earthrise theme using one of three methods: hand drawn, computer generated or screenshot manipulation. Participants may enter multiple categories, but please read Contest Categories for category specifications.
• Save or scan art as a PDF or .jpeg and attach artwork to email. Do not paste in the body of the email.
• Artwork exceeding 5MB in file size or dimensions of 1280 x 1024 and animated files will not be accepted. Any entries that do not meet these specifications will not be considered for the contest.
• In the body of the email please provide your first and last name, your full address including street number and name, city, state or province, postal code (if any) and country. Indicate the category that you wish to enter your artwork and please attach the artwork to your email. Do not paste art in the body of your email.
• In the event that you are cited as the winner, please indicate your preferred published name: real name or pseudonym. If you prefer to use a pseudonym, please provide your first and last name along with your handle or in-game name and clearly indicate your preference in your entry email.
• Email your art work to earthrise@tapin.net. The subject line of email should read “Earthrise Fan Art Contest”. If you prefer to mail your entry through postal mail or would like to mail a hard copy of your entry in addition to submitting through email, please mail the artwork to:

Please only submit original artwork created for this contest, previously published works will not be accepted.

Judges will be comprised of members of the Sponsor’s staff and the judges’ decisions will be final.
Use of Entries:
By participating in the contest, contestants grant Masthead Studios the right to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including, without limitation, the World Wide Web, at any time or times, the submission of text and the contestant’s name, as news or for public information and education without additional consideration or compensation. The entry becomes the property of Masthead Studios and will not be returned. Entrants surrender copyright and all interests therein of their submissions to Masthead Studios with the understanding that the materials may be used for promotional purposes.
Eligibility:
By participating in the contest, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to Masthead Studios’ privacy policy.
Employees of Masthead Studios and their subsidiaries or affiliates, and any family members and/or household members of these employees, are excluded from the contest.
Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
This contest is void where prohibited, restricted or taxed by law.
Disclaimer:

• Computer Generated Artwork – Entries in this category must be predominantly computer generated or rendered elements. Use of imaging software and filters are allowed. Use of official artwork or screenshots is prohibited in this category.
• Screenshot Manipulation – Entries in this category must predominantly feature officially released artwork and/or screenshots.
