Six months ago we announced Earthrise and since then we have been working hard to bring you the game that we are all excited about. Content and gameplay have been added and we met our alpha milestones in early May allowing us to begin playing and testing the game. We know you all are geared up for beta so we decided that in this month's newsletter we would give you some insight into our development process and the road to beta.

The Game Designers are working to polish Earthrise's game design to introduce fresh and exciting features including several original options and abilities for players to benefit from with their in-game tactics.

The Art Team is focused on the starting area of Enterra and the coastal regions on the map. Nearly finished with the creatures of Earthrise, the character artists are focusing on fine-tuning the main character designs. With a variety of customization options and initial character clothing designs, we hope even the most discriminating of players will find a look to please them as they set out on their adventures.

It is a real pleasure to see the Level Designers progress in building the island of Enterra - right now they are putting their efforts to the coastal regions and the Nest. Keep an eye out for new screenshots from these regions soon!

With everything that our spectacular team has accomplished in the previous months, we are still looking toward autumn of 2008 to begin our beta. For the time being, we want to thank all of you for your contributions to our growing community and for your early dedication to Earthrise.

See you in the forums!

"Greetings from the Community Corner!"

June was a pretty exciting time for the community, as we dived into some rather technical questions of the week (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1362.0), and spent some time discussing the smaller factions (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1283.0). Thanks to the overwhelming popularity of our original Question of the Week thread, we've opened a fresh one (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1383.0), and it is ready for all those questions we know you have thought about.

As we push on towards beta, the more detailed information provided by the developers has given everyone something to chat about, but the community remains an excellent gathering place for different perspectives, new ideas and creative debates. The freezing mechanics (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1175.0) thread has showed no signs of melting down during these warm early summer days, and the consequences of death thread (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=558.0) remains alive and well. Player accountability (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1366.0) spun off into its own topic from the late May thread it started in, and provided an interesting perspective on spying, alt play, and privacy.

Acidblood7 and Xyleya added more colorful signatures to try and Revolutionary7 contributed with some hand-drawn art of a generic trooper (http://forums.play-earthrise.com/index.php?topic=1378.0). Thanks to the three of you for helping keep Club Earthrise an elegant and creative haven!

There are also a few new fansites that have launched in our French and German speaking communities. I encourage everyone to go check them out when they have more than a few minutes to spare - there's plenty to see.

With over 2000 members in the community now and nearly 22000 posts strong, we can't wait to hear from all of you, so dive right in and let us know what's on your mind. See you on the forums!

I cannot wait for beta! Right now, however, I'd be happy with a video, even a CGI video with no gameplay...just something to flesh out the game some.
