I saw a 5? page spiderweb of flame wars there last night. reminds me of the official warcraft forums. I'm under the impression that whats happening to those forums is the very reason NC didn't want any official forums. I mainly only read the class forums there so it doesn't bother me that much I spose.

So I just got a week long ban from PTR for the "purples" thread because... Rok flamed me... and I didn't take the bait... and... somehow I'm the one got banned. Figure that one out.

So, I started submitting this letter to various official TR outlets. I think if enough of us post something like this we might get rid of the one reason we even bother with PTR.

I have noticed that various members of the TR staff post on Planet TR fan site. I would like to ask that they stop because the Moderators and site admin's are fairly corrupt in who they let use their website and how they treat others when posting. Planet TR is the only forum I know that gets frequent useful TR staff posts, and it is a shame we have to put up with the negative attitude of the Planet TR community just to get the bits of game info that are posted on the site. If you guys could find a better and less hostile place to post, many TR players would appreciate it.

What sucks is that it's the most frequented dev forum. There are three decent alternatives:

Gangrel's (http://forums.tentonhammer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=380)
TenTonhammer (http://forums.tentonhammer.com/forumdisplay.php?f=380)
Stratics (http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/tr/ubbthreads.php?Cat=)

I read them, mostly for test server info.

Lots of good stuff there, among the useless stuff.

Compliments of Dinororger
Since I only have your side of things and the side of the other moderators I can only piece together that something may or may not have happened. So here is what I can offer. This is the first time I am aware of this situation coming up. Now it is out there I will have a good background if it ever occurs again (not saying it did occcur just stating for future references). I believe now and in the future you will see a more structured way of giving warnings, infractions, and banning. I believe the system or lack of system in the past may have caused these problems or confusion about who gets banned and for what. Now that being said, unfortantly with the new system you may see less of a forgiving stance from the moderators to any poster. Meaning one curse word will get you a warning instead of fix and forget. This is just one of the many examples of reasons a moderator would get invloved. Moderators are also taking a hard stance for baiting, flamining, dev/poster/ptr bashing, or any of rule violation. Also remember like before many of these warning and infractions are done behind the scenes so the public is not aware of past infractions leading up to a ban. Most bans are for a limited time but some may be perm (the poster with the infraction is aware). Because of this just one curse word or baiting may get a poster a ban do too previous warnings and infractions.

So to sum things up now that you have raised the flag we can watch the moderating process more closely and help streamline the moderator process. I hope you see this as an improvement instead of trying to shuffle dirt under the carpet. Thanks you for helping us improve PTR.
