So earlier tonight I was climbing around in the marshes looking for interesting thing like I normally do and I found out that the Research Point (or something like that) control point is accessible from the rock to the west of it. Just run up the rocks and then jump to the wall. Good thing the Bane don't know about it. Anyway, while you are in the base you can then run back south, jump up some rocks and make your way to a catwalk to a radar dish. You can shoot the whole base (almost, there is are a few places with LoS blocked, but not much) and if you do get aggro you can either try to use the platform you are on for cover, which works most of the time, or easily just run away out of the base.

After the CP got captured back I was looking around and noticed that the ridge south of the base has many different ledges that you can't get to from the base, so I ran around and spent some times trying to get to that ridge. Took me about an hour but I managed to jump my way along the rocks and grass to get up to the ridge around the Logos Research Facility (which can also be used to snipe a great deal of people), and then drop down. I finally though about taking screen shots then, but I accidentally pressed the auto-run button and ended up on the last ridge right before the ground anyway, which isn't fun because you can get to that one by jumping on buildings.

Moral of the story: Remember to take more screen shots of my crazy travels. Also get a better computer so the screen shots I do take look better.

In the mean time, have a shot of me about to take out a shield bot from that lower ledge I ended up on. I'll try to have more scenic shots later.

So I managed to get back on top of the hill pretty easily. It's a pretty nice spot. Probably the best CP sniper spot I've been at so far. I've managed to kill everyone in there with almost no relatiation, most things are between 70-90m and I was even able to cap the CP at the end.

Note, the screen shots kinda suck because I don't have my graphics up very high, and I'm in marshes. The damn place is full of fog.

Here is the Commander of the Bane Defense, Quake. He'll be dead shortly, after I take out the rest of his men.

Here you can see just how high I can get. I'm well above the tower in the base, and have a much better field of view than the tower.

Here you can see just how perfect this spot is. Across the way on the catwalk around the wall the enemy is about 76 meters away, providing me with close to maximum damage.

And here is me after I killed the last soldier. If you can see, on my mini map the whole base is clear, with just a few guys patrolling outside the base. You can't see it because my head is blocking, but Quake is lying face down in the dirt.

If anyone has any suggestions about places to go that might provide interesting vantage points, or any place that you think would just look cool, let me know, and I'll try to get up there.

Later, and remember, the terrain is your friend.
