Operation Descent - 09 JAN 08

What: Descent Assault

Who: The 47th will be hosting but all soldiers of any level are welcome and encouraged to participate!

This coming Wednesday the 47th AFSEF will be hosting it's first server wide operation to recapture the Descent continent from Bane control. Our mission is simple: to liberate all CPs from Bane control and hold them for one hour.

The event starts at 1800 PST and we will be assembling in the Fort Virgil courtyard in front of the HQ building. The event will be GM supported for some surprises.

So come on down and fight alongside Commander Labienus and his 47th!

Gonna try my best to attend but I'll have to put some work into finding my way to descent first XD

Doub't i'll be a very high level either ^^;

Ya I'm in the same boat as Akechi. I can't imagine be of any use at all while we're there either. LOL, I don't even know how many zones between me and Descent there are. This is actually coming up much faster than I expected it would from the complexity of the story arc. Not to be a defeatest but I wonder if it's to soon to be successful?

I'm also a low level, but I think with the help that we are set to recieve from GM's and if all of our high level's show up, we might be able to do something. If nothing else it'll be hella fun, probably. I'll try to be there if I can. I don't see how anything will stop me.

Guys, just because your low level doesn't mean you're barred from participating. I expect every single 47th soldier from our highest level to our lowest.

Oh, well of course we'll show up, just saying we might not show up with all our limbs attached ^^;

I think it's just an unwritten rule in in the Bane RoE that you must attack me first all of the time every time.

AHA! I found my way to descent... suprisingly easy, no quests or lost limbs either. logged out there and i'm ready for the action ^^

Just for shits and giggles I ran into Descent and started attacking some bane troops. I think I manged to get a full Chaingun clip into one of them. They were probably laughing at me too hard to want to kill me that fast. I think I took one hit from a caretaking and lost 5/7ths of my health. Then like 4 hits from a Footsoldier took out my shield and one more caretaker blast took me out. I think I took away about 1/4th of the footsoldier's health. Suffice it to say I left there and started killing things on plateau for fun and profit. Well it would of been profit had I not used a chaingun... I'm rambling now... I'll stop...

I'll do my best to make it to the event but I cannot make any promises. My toons are all still under level 20 so not much help here.

I've had trouble getting motivated to play in the past few days so I apologize if you have not seen me on much. I dunno what is is but my heart just hasn't been in the game since after newyears.

That was awesome. Did anyone take any screen shots of that? I'll see if I can find a place on the website to put some info about our first mission together. Also, if anyone has a list of everyone who was there there, both in guild and out of guild I can put that list online to honor those who fought to hold Decent.

Well, for 47th members we had myself, Decker, Dueo, Akechi, Aria, you, and... that was it I believe.

As for non-47th members I really only remember the dumbass who let Virgil fall and insulted Critters right to her face and this poor guy who was left alone in a CP because no one told him we were grouping in Cato. Poor SOB didn't get a beret. He was pretty bent out of shape so I sent Critters a PM. Hopefully he'll get his, was a cool guy and I'm positive he'll be joining up with us in the next week or two.

As for screenshots, I was in /tell hell the whole time and didn't get a single one. I know Critters took quite a few both during and after the event and they will (eventually) show up on the rgtr.com community page. No known ETA on that happening though.

At any rate I'll keep the names of 47th members in attendence on record so when the little bio pages come to fruition I can get the right commendations to the right people.

But yeah, great stuff. Next event is basically in two weeks. Still hammering out details on it.

Now I don't claim to be an expert of what happened but there were no striders anywhere in or around Virgil base when it fell. I know because I was there. Also, it bothers me that they only metion us, the 47th, on a page that first described what this even is going to be, but then not even have a link to our webpage. And lastly, by using the the first name of the TheCat's name, and not his last name it appears as though this person either hasn't played TR, or just doesn't care about it too much. All in all, I'm glad there is publicity of the event, but it's a very very poor report.

Because Dumbass-TheCat was sitting inside of my CP during an attack wave while i was outside mopping up and then he started whining at Critters to spawn a bunch of Striders (inside of my CP mind you). So she did and while the three other people were inside my CP killing Striders we lost Virgil and therefore failed the event. That's where the Striders thing came from.

At any rate, 47th members will be in charge of all objectives from here on out and Thecat... ugh, hopefully never attends another one.

Can't we just ban TheCat from attending any further ones? I mean he can still be a douche, but if we just pretend he's not there he can't really do anything to hurt us.

could you find out from Critters if she can give a player clip mode, I'd like to start Capping our events for all to see.

I'll see what she can do but I doubt that's within her capabilities. The only thing she can do is play a role as an actor, spawn mobs, change player names, and insta warp people using their ingame name. That's it.
